Beer Labels
Lopez Island Brewing Company (LIBCo) was launched in 2015 by a friend, Mike Noreen, who woke up one day and decided he wanted to make beer.
He asked if I'd get all his graphics done for this startup. From logo, keg wraps, glass etching (for pint glasses), to website and shareholder's certificates.
Mike & Lia have had others jump in and create labels, which is good as it gives different artistic styles to their lineup.
Below are the graphics I've done over the past 8 years for this truly fun brewery.

The Logo
We started the logo with the main font already chosen. I sent about 5 different design ideas.
I'm not a fan of warping text, but the client liked this design. It does stand out well on marketing material.

The First Beer Bottle Label
Mike wanted his first label to represent the island they all love and call home.
This was quite a project. Using a marine map, I had to make the island "POP." I took the map and pulled the island and increased the color. It was decided a bit of the blue should outline the island.
The final label didn't have the hyphen between Lopezian and Style (which drove me nuts). But, that's the way they wanted it and the customer is always right.

More Labels
Once I got all the little graphics done (keg wraps, glass etchings, etc), I began creating labels as the years went by.
Pale Ale - from Marilyn to the Fort
Mike was making a Pale Ale and thought "blonde" would be fun. The most famous blonde is Ms Monroe. I put some ideas together. Unfortunately, the copyright to images of Marilyn were outside the budget of LIBCo.
Mike switched from blonde pale ale to a driftwood fort design.

FINAL DESIGN FOR BLONDE ALE
Being able to switch ideas, layouts, fonts, to give an overall feeling is very important as a graphic designer. I was disappointed we couldn't use Ms Monroe, but that's the way it is.
Other Labels
The Big Handsome
If you've made it this far, I've saved the best for last. This label is up for TPP approval. The dog passed away and being an island celebrity over his years, it has a special place in the heart of the locals. Isn't he handsome!
